Hi, I'm Daniel.
My corporate, editorial, and ad work has appeared in Fortune magazine, The Globe and Mail, and Report on Business magazine. Commercial clients include Apple, Celestica, Mercedes Benz, BDC, Mackenzie, Porter, TD, RBC, Rogers, U of T, and the CBC.
I travel across Canada and to the United States to complete assignments. My team is ready to fly at a moment's notice. I've been fortunate to work with art directors and agencies throughout Canada, the United States, and Europe on editorial, annual report, and web-based projects. I remain an enthusiastic collaborator.
I've adventured through the United States, Iceland, England, Scotland, Ireland, Cuba, Israel and the West Bank, Turkey, Greece, France, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Austria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Montenegro, Serbia, Croatia, Slovakia, Sarajevo, Bosnia & Hercegovina, Kosovo, Poland, and Russia.
Much of my travel time was spent exploring formerly war-torn or post-communist areas which burned me out. I studied 20th century history, Near and Middle Eastern Civilizations, and Fine Art History at the University of Toronto, so there were heavy stories along the way.
Today I explore gentler climes with my legs, sometimes taking a break to hop in a canoe (or kayak), before pitching a tent for the night. I've hiked through the Tatra Mountains (Poland), Yosemite National Park, Joshua Tree National Park, Shenandoah National Park, the Appalachian Trail, The Long Trail, the Isle of Skye and Scottish Highlands (Scotland), the Lycian Way (Turkey), the Swiss Alps (Interlaken), and much of the Bruce Trail. If there's snow on the ground I'm tramping through it on snowshoes or gliding elegantly along on XC skis.
I'm certified in Wilderness First Aid which I think is pretty exciting. Cutting down trees with my mind to fashion a splint for you. Also Standard First Aid and CPR (A) and CPR (C) in case you or your baby need some help during a shoot.
I'm a Hike Ontario Certified hike leader too. I love birds. I lurk in bushes trying to identify them with miniature binoculars. Most often unsuccessfully, especially Warblers. My spirit animal is an aloof, yet loveable Woolly Mammoth. Like Manny from Ice Age.
I live in Toronto with my amazing Sarah and our full forest of Parks Ontario stuffed animals.
